Industry 4.0

Are plans underway at your company to evolve to an Industry 4.0 ecosystem? Meeting the real-time demands from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) requires an innovative approach to managing manufacturing shop floors. Industry 4.0 business models promote lean and efficient operations and sustain advanced manufacturing.

4.0有多个模型provide a platform for the application of IIoT and the drive to building a more interconnected factory or smart facility. These include data-driven inventory optimization, predictive maintenance, and data-driven plant performance optimization. The ultimate goal of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is improved as plant and asset managers have a greater insight into the operation of the machinery.

The implementation of Industry 4.0 products & solutions also requires the use of industrial cloud solutions to steer the journey to a more responsive and automated factory. A crucial part of this journey is the implementation of a sophisticated Human-Machine-Interfaces (HMI). Companies that make the right choice will gain a serious edge over the competition as enhanced control systems improve productivity. Other benefits will include lower energy usage, improved process efficiency and, the often overlooked benefit of cybersecurity.

Brief History of Industry 4.0

The termsIndustry 4.0and the4thIndustrial Revolutionare interchangeable. Calling it the 4thIndustrial Revolution sounds cooler, but we shorten things now…so Industry 4.0 it is.

A quick history course on the first three Industrial Revolutions:

  1. In the 1700 to 1800’s, our primary way of producing shifted from manual/animal labor to using water/steam-powered engines and other machine tools.
  2. In the early 1900’s, electricity and higher quality metals were introduced into factories, leading us to the creation of the assembly line.
  3. In the late 1950’s computer technologies begin to emerge, and we begin shifting from an analog to digital workplace.

Seeing a trend? Every step into the next revolution has taken ½ as much time. Now, the speed we’re capable of transferring information doubles every year. This speed allows us to connect all the smaller autonomous eco-systems within a company, allowing them to share real-time data, and create an entirely new system with better collaboration, control, and understanding.

How does Electromate specifically help a customer with getting into 4.0? We can help by providing 4.0 products such as Exor. Below are a list of products that are all "Industry 4.0 compatible."
